Lanka to manufacture Indian Suzuki Maruti cars

"The objective of project is to create the opportunity to purchase Indian Suzuki Maruti motor cars at a low cost in this country as the import cost of the Indian Suzuki Maruti motor cars remains very high, said Industrial Development and Ranaviru Welfare Minister Kumara Welgama recently.In the circumstances, a discussion was held with the Executive Director of the Indian Suzuki Maruti Motor Car Company, Jagdish Khattar, and representatives of the Industrial Development Ministry, under the patronage of Minister Kumara Welgama in respect of the local manufacture of Indian Suzuki Maruti motor cars. Incidentally, these cars have a low fuel consumption.

Minister Welgama said the government will take steps to introduce an attractive policy for the country to manufacture motor cars as in other countries. The minister added that he will act with dedication to provide the necessary incentives and facilities for factories in the local manufacture of Indian Suzuki Maruti motor cars.Director Jagdish Khattar said that he will take steps to submit the relevant project proposal after engaging in a suitable study regarding the local manufacture of Indian Suzuki Maruti motor cars.
